About Kathleen Haffeman, MSN, PMHNP-BC
My goal is to help you find clarity and balance by understanding what’s beneath the surface.
Hi, I’m Kat, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 17 years of experience in nursing, including emergency, critical care, and primary care. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through some of life’s hardest moments, and one thing became clear: mental health is at the center of everything. That understanding is what brought me to psychiatry and continues to shape how I approach care today.
I hold degrees in the arts and nursing from James Madison University and Marymount University respectively, before obtaining my Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University. This diverse educational background informs my practice and reflects my commitment to whole-person, integrated care.
My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and rooted in evidence-based care. I provide care always tailored to the individual, with attention to both symptoms and the broader context of each person’s life. I take the time to understand each person’s full story and support them in a way that feels both manageable and meaningful. As a parent myself, I also know the unique pressures that come with raising a family and believe in offering compassionate care that meets people where they are.
While I'm originally from Northern Virginia, I moved to Colorado in 2011 on a whim, and it quickly felt like home. I live here with my husband, two children, and two cats. We enjoy exploring Colorado and traveling to visit family on both coasts and in the Midwest. Still, I’m a homebody at heart, enjoying a quiet evening with cooking and movies, a creative project, a good audiobook, or time with neighbors.
